Why does the Shark 700 spit a small burst of paint when first pulling the trigger?

This is normal air displacement in the fluid channel. Always perform a 1-second test spray on scrap cardboard before painting.

Fluid Channel Priming Dynamics

When the tool is powered on for the first time or sits idle between coats, the fluid suction channel contains an initial air gap. As the brushless motor spools up and the trigger is pulled, this air bubble is expelled, causing a momentary droplet burst.

Standard Test Spray Technique

Always keep a piece of cardboard or scrap material nearby. Direct the nozzle at the scrap board, pull the trigger for 1-2 seconds until a continuous, uniform mist is established, then smoothly move the stroke onto your workpiece.
